After a long wait,  BLACKPINK officially dropped their teaser image for the upcoming comeback.

On August 8th, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK will drop their new song “Pink Venom” at 1pm (KST) on August 19th.

The title represents a combination of BLACKPINK’s beautiful (pink) but fatal (venom) charm, as well as their unique girl crush charisma unreplicable by anyone else.

In the teaser image for Pink Venom, the fans that appeared in BLACKPINK’s comeback trailer were once again used as the main object. This overwhelming presence of an unknown creature, which looks like it can swallow up anything at any moment, stimulated viewers’ curiosity and imagination about the concept of the new song.

Referring to the release of “Pink Venom”, YG Entertainment said: “Today, on the anniversary of BLACKPINK’s debut anniversary (August 8th), we are happy to announce the pre-release single that opens the prelude to the “BORN PINK” project.”

Previously, YG unveiled the schedule for BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” project, which includes a pre-release song and MV in August, a full album and title song in September, and a world tour in October.”

BLACKPINK’s comeback after 1 year and 10 months of no group releases, as well as news that their 2 new MVs recorded the highest production cost in YG history have been drawing high anticipation. Many people are now expecting record-breaking achievements in this comeback of the “YouTube queens” of Kpop.

In addition to fans, influential foreign media such as Billboard in the US and NME in the UK also predicted that BLACKPINK will set new records on major global charts, saying: “The world has been waiting for the return of BLACKPINK.”
