While singer Bibi cried and complained of overwork during a live broadcast, Tiger JK, her agency’s CEO, stated his position.
Tiger JK posted on his SNS on July 23rd, “First of all, I would like to assure you that Bibi is doing great. I also want to emphasize that we do not starve our artists. We eat well, play hard and treat each other with nothing but respect and love.”
Regarding Bibi’s Instagram live broadcast, he said, “I was surprised. I don’t know what triggered her to express her frustration in such sadness, but we sympathize with her as creators and artists ourselves. Bibi’s full album is a masterpiece. The way Bibi writes her songs is very beautiful but painful at the same time. She writes scripts for movies and builds characters first. However, she gets so immersed in these stories that at times, she becomes those characters. You’ll understand this when her album is released. We all haven’t slept for weeks and months for this project. As we near the final stages, I could only assume that her anxiety was going through the roof.”
Tiger JK continued, “As it’s festival season in Korea, we have many shows to rock. We along with Bibi are appreciative and grateful of all the opportunities we’ve been getting, but sometimes we don’t know how to pace ourselves. I believe that Bibi and we are all exhausted. Most importantly, we let artists choose most of their schedules.”
Finally, he added, “I promise you, Bibi is not starving nor doing things she doesn’t want to. One thing we pride ourselves on is that our company has trust in each other. I do whatever it takes to protect my loved ones. I want Bibi to continue to be healthy and happy not only as a CEO but also as a fan. I will continue to support and protect her. I will help her reach her full potential as the amazing artist she is. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and that this will only make us stronger.”
Previously, Bibi caused fans to worry as she cried and confessed through an Instagram live broadcast, “I want to eat as much as I can. I want to take a nap. I want to rest. But I can’t. I don’t have a choice. There are many family members I have to take care of, so I have to work hard. They don’t even allow me to wash my face. I wish I hadn’t become a singer. I don’t want to be a celebrity. I can’t even remove my makeup.”
When her remarks became controversial, she explained, “As I am working on an album that will surprise the world and trying to prepare good content at the same time, something similar to a burnout seems to have affected me. Because of me, Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae are being misunderstood. They are the people who give me the greatest strength when I am having a hard time. Thank you for understanding even my immature parts. I love you.”
