SM Entertainment’s ultimate mistreatment of f(x): giving f(x)’s song to Red Velvet?

A misunderstanding almost happened between MeUs and ReVeluvs.

On May 24th, SM Entertainment released Red Velvet’s first teaser photos for their Japanese debut mini album. Things were going on well until fans discovered that their album, which includes Japanese versions of their three hits ‘Dumb Dumb’, ‘Russian Roulette’ and ‘Red Flavor’, together with three new songs ‘Cookie Jar’, ‘Aitai-tai’ and ‘Cause It’s You’, is titled ‘Cookie Jar’.
According to SM stans and especially f(x) fans, f(x) was going to release a song called ‘Cookie Jar’ back in 2013, but in the end they didn’t.

f(x)’s new album is produced by a Swedish artist, and the next song is named ‘Cookie Jar’ (A tweet by f(x) fandom in May 2013)
Together with SM’s latest news, several fans believe that SM Entertainment has passed f(x)’s song to Red Velvet. This has angered a lot of MeUs (f(x) fans). They believe that their idols have received the most unfair treatment from the company. Not only have they been left in the SM dungeon, they are also going to lose their unreleased song to a junior group.

However, a few other fans have realized that f(x)’s ‘Cookie Jar’ and Red Velvet’s ‘Cookie Jar’ are two completely different songs. The most obvious proof is that in the credit of ‘Rum Pum Pum Pum’, it was written that the original title of the song was ‘Cookie Jar’, and ‘Rum Pum Pum Pum’ was already released in the second half of 2013. A lot of fans did not know about this and falsely believed that ‘Cookie Jar’ never made it to f(x)’s discography.
Fortunately, the misunderstanding between the two fandoms was resolved before it could blow up. On another episode, Red Velvet will make their Japanese debut on July 4th.
