Bae Yong Joon suspends the operation of his website and withdraws from the entertainment industry with his wife Park Soo Jin

As it was belatedly revealed that the operation of Bae Yong Joon’s website has stopped, rumors of his retirement from the entertainment industry arose.

A media outlet reported on November 13th that Bae Yong Joon’s website domain has been put up for sale, drawing keen attention.

Bae Young Joon has never officially announced his retirement but suspended his activities for about 11 years since his special appearance in KBS’s 2011 drama “Dream High”. At the news that he even stopped operating his website, people speculate that the actor is preparing for his retirement. An official in the entertainment industry said, “This means no one is managing Bae Yong Joon’s iconic website anymore. Bae Yong Joon has no management team, and he is also not interested in external activities as an entertainer.”

Amid the news of Bae Yong Joon’s website being put up for sale, the actor’s recent status was revealed by his acquaintance. In particular, the actor is not selling his homepage, but it’s just a message for the management company because the domain has not been updated for a long time.

Bae Yong Joon’s acquaintance said to OSEN on the afternoon of November 13th, “Bae Yong Joon is currently staying in Hawaii with his wife Park Soo Jin as well as his son and daughter. He is focusing on parenting and his family life”.

Revealing that they had been contacting Bae Yong Joon until recently, the acquaintance shared, “Bae Yong Joon is satisfied with his quiet life with his family in Hawaii”, adding “Since he has suspended his acting career for more than 10 years, there is no need to manage the homepage”.

In particular, the acquaintance said, “In other words, Bae Yong Joon already made a nice withdrawal from the Korean entertainment industry when he handed over the shares he owned to SM in 2018. It was no different to retiring as an actor”

Meanwhile, Bae Yong Joon, who debuted in KBS2’s 1994 drama “Salut D’Amour”, gained huge popularity and became a top star that represents Korea through KBS2’s “Our Sunny Days of Youth” (1995), “First Love” (1996), “The Barefooted Youth” (1998), MBC’s “Did We Really Love?” (1999), and MBC’s “Hotelier” (2001), etc. Later, Bae Yong Joon reached his heyday by captivating viewers not only in Korea but also across Asia with KBS2’s drama “Winter Sonata”. Emerging as a first-generation Hallyu star, Bae Yong Joon received explosive attention, especially in Japan, and was so well-loved that he even got nicknamed “Yon-sama (Emperor Yon)”.

Bae Yong Joon, who boasted great influence as an Asian star in Korea and Japan, later made his comeback with MBC’s “The Legend” in 2007 and certified his popularity once again by helping the series achieve the highest viewer rating of 31.9%. After temporarily suspending his acting career, Bae Yong Joon married actress Park Soo Jin, a former member of the girl group Sugar, and continued to manage KeyEast Entertainment as a CEO. However, he ended his entertainment business after handing over KeyEast’s management control to SM Entertainment in 2018.

“Yon-sama” Bae Yong Joon, who has already become a father of two children, seems to have planned his retirement from the entertainment industry starting with his marriage. Ever since his investment in Blitzway, a startup figure production company launched by CEO Bae Sung Woong, Bae Yong Joon’s former manager who led KeyEast, in 2018, Bae Yong Joon has not carried out any activities. Moving to Hawaii with his wife Park Soo Jin a few years ago, Bae Yong Joon has taken steps to retire by abolishing his homepage, which was the only channel for fans to communicate.
