Agency Officially Confirms Lee Sun-kyun’s Death, “Please Refrain From Spreading Speculations”

On December 27th, Lee Sun-kyun’s agency HODU&U Entertainment released an official press announcement, stating “Actor Lee Sun-kyun passed away on December 27th. There’s no way that we can express this heartbreaking and sorrowful feeling”.

The agency continued, “We earnestly ask you to refrain from spreading false information based on speculations and malicious reports so that the deceased’s reputation won’t be unfairly tarnished while going on his last journey”, adding “The funeral of Lee Sun-kyun will be held quietly with the attendance of the bereaved family and colleagues”.

The police booked Lee Sun-kyun on drug charges in October after securing evidence that he took drugs at the residence of entertainment establishment A earlier this year. Lee Sun-kyun denied A’s claim against him. He then sued A for threatening and Kim for blackmailing.

Lee Sun-kyun debuted in 2001 through a musical and appeared in many famous works, such as “Coffee Prince”, “Pasta”, “All About My Wife”, “My Mister”, “Payback”, etc. In particular, he aroused keen attention from global viewers after starring in the Oscar-winning movie “Parasite”.

The actor married actress Jeon Hye-jin in 2009 and had two sons.
