Previously on January 25, aespa’s Ningning became a target of criticisms in China for not recognizing her a fan after said fan attended 12 fancalls.
According to the fan’s original post, they decided to stop being a fan of Ningning after sending a huge amount of money to apply for 12 aespa fancalls, only for Ningning to be unable to tell if they have met many times before.
However, while many criticized Ningning for not paying attention to such a devoted fan, a lot of people defended the female idol, saying that it’s normal considering that she met a lot of fans.
Meanwhile, some others suspected the fan’s claims, demanding for proof that they actually attended 12 fancalls as the fan originally only published her purchases of aespa’s albums.
The fan later deleted the post about Ningning, prompting further suspicions that the entire story was made up. However, they have since returned.
In particular, on January 26, the fan released “evidence” of her 12 fancalls – a compilation of 12 screenshots from their fancalls with Ningning, along with the caption, “My evidence of attending 12 fancalls. I was forced to delete the last post due to being attacked. However, people are saying that I deleted it because I was scared. Therefore, I’m sending all the insults to the police, not as a threat but because I have no other choice. I only left the fandom. I did not insult Ningning and do not plan to in the future”.
The fan’s new post has since attracted over 3,000 comments and over 135,000 likes on Chinese SNS platform, with many expressing sympathy for the fan.
