ADOR Explained Hanni’s Korean Lesson And Hyein’s Braces Controversies

Earlier, NewJeans’ Hanni talked about wanting to learn Korean officially but not being allowed in a live broadcast on November 21st. However, rumors spread, claiming ADOR prevented Hanni from getting Korean class.

On the 22nd, Hanni said on NewJeans’ fan communication platform, “I think there was a misunderstanding yesterday. I told my manager, who quit a year ago, that I wanted to learn Korean, and he gave me a light answer on the spot, so I took it as a joke.”

“That’s why I wanted to tell Bunnies (NewJeans’ fandom) this funny story, but I don’t think it was delivered as I thought,” she said. “I’m so sorry to everyone, the CEO (Min Hee-jin) and other company staff didn’t know at all.”

The idol added, “I was very surprised that the controversy got bigger than I thought. That’s not the case at all. I wanted to clear up the misunderstanding. I hope Bunnies don’t misunderstand and worry.”

ADOR also issued a statement on November 22nd, saying “Regarding the language education of the members, ADOR has recruited instructors and allocated training hours according to the needs of each member, and has recently conducted language education that meets Hani’s needs separately. The same is true of Korean language education. Each member’s schooling system or basic privacy issues mentioned in the same context are very important to individuals, so the company does not decide arbitrarily.”

Additionally, ADOR explained rumors about Hyein’s braces. The agency said, “Hyein’s braces or homeschooling is entirely her parents’ decision,” adding, “She started wearing braces before becominv a trainee, and with the consent of her parents, we carried out a program to safely improve her teeth while preserving existing teeth as much as possible.”

Lastly, the company stressed, “We think it is an important responsibility of ADOR to support any decision of the members,” adding, “Therefore, we sincerely ask everyone to refrain from indiscriminate speculation and expanded interpretation of their privacy-related issues.”
