“The Glory” Kim Gun Woo “Song Hye Kyo seemed like a true adult. We become close and speak casually”

“The Glory” Kim Gun Woo revealed his first shooting episode with Song Hye Kyo and what he learned.

On the morning of March 23rd, an interview with actor Kim Gun Woo of Netflix’s “The Glory” was held at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Netflix’s original series “The Glory” (written by Kim Eun Sook, directed by Ahn Gil Ho) is about a woman whose soul was broken by school violence during her childhood, as she carefully prepared her whole life for a revenge plan and the story of those who fall into the vortex. Following Part 1 in December last year, Part 2 was released on March 10th and is gaining huge popularity around the world.

In the drama, Kim Gun Woo played Son Myeong Oh, part of the group of school violence perpetrators alongside Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon), Jeon Jae Joon (Park Sung Hoon), Lee Sa Ra (Kim Hieora) and Choi Hye Jeong (Cha Joo Young). In the second half of Part 1, he suddenly disappeared and was surrounded by mystery. In Part 2, he gained attention as a person holding an important key.

Kim Gun Woo, who debuted with KBS2’s drama “Fight for My Way” in 2017, is a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts’ School of Drama, unlike the ignorant character Son Myeong Oh. He was the top student and was famous for his body in School of Drama. After “The Glory”, he chose the musical “Red Book” as his next work and is practicing.

Regarding the hardest scene, Kim Gun Woo said, “The first scene I filmed for ‘The Glory’ on the first day was with Hye Kyo. We filmed it together at a tteokbokki place, and it was an important scene for me. It was a bit difficult because it was my first day. We filmed a lot that day. I found the feeling of Myeong Oh.

He continued, “Song Hye Kyo seemed like a true adult beyond the meaning of being a senior. She told me ‘Do whatever you want comfortably’ and treated me with respect. She also instructed me, saying, ‘Take it easy and don’t be nervous.’

When asked “Do you and Song Hye Kyo speak casually now?“, he replied, “We speak comfortably. ‘The Glory’ cast members are all friendly, so I feel comfortable talking to them.

About the things Kim Gun Woo learned from Song Hye Kyo, he confessed, “When I become someone’s senior, if I have juniors, I want to share a lot of things with an open mind like her. I thought that each of us should not focus on acting well, but focus on creating good scenes.

Meanwhile, “The Glory” Part 2 was released worldwide through Netflix on March 10th.
