Joo Hyun-young, who dreamed of becoming an “idol”… “I failed JYP audition because I was lacking”
Actress Joo Hyun-young recalled the past of participating in idol auditions.
Actress Joo Hyun-young appeared on KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show”, which aired on Oct 24th.
On this day, Park Myung-soo asked, “I heard that your dream in the past was to become an idol. You even auditioned for JYP. Did you want to be BLACKPINK?”
Joo Hyun-young replied, “That’s right. I’m from the generation of Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation and Kara. At that time, there was an open audition for JYP. I went there with enthusiasm.”
When asked “Why do you think you failed?”, she recalled her past, “I think I failed because I couldn’t do it. I wasn’t well-prepared, I was lacking back then.”
Joo Hyun-young made everyone laugh by adding, “My manager is from JYP. He/she probably knows why I failed, but doesn’t tell me.”
Joo Hyun-young then mentioned her movie “2 O’Clock Date”, which is scheduled to be released, saying, “My movie will be released soon.” After hearing this, Park Myung-soo admired, “Isn’t Sung Dong-il also starring in this movie?”
Joo Hyun-young explained, “I was scolded by Sung Dong-il. He didn’t just scold me, he gave me advice as well.”
