Actor Ji Soo’s close associate “Misunderstandings with the person who first raised school violence allegations resolved, no plan for return”

Actor Ji Soo, who was embroiled in controversy over school violence in the past, repeatedly clarified that the allegations are untrue

On October 23rd, a close associate of Ji Soo told Xports News “He met the individual who first raised allegations of school violence and resolved misunderstandings, and they are now in a supportive relationship“, explaining that the allegations of school violence that caused a stir in the media 2 years ago are rumors and not facts.

Regarding the reason for the belated explanation, this associate said, “At that time, when the school violence allegations were raised, he withdrew from the drama and immediately enlisted. He wanted to clarify the allegations, but it was delayed because he didn’t have an agency.”

Furthermore, Ji Soo’s side emphasized, “He doesn’t intend to make a statement to return to the entertainment industry. He just wanted to clarify the incorrect information.”

In 2021, Ji Soo was engulfed in school violence allegations that emerged through an online community. It was claimed that during his school years, he was part of a group that committed violence and used abusive language. Some individuals went as far as to accuse Ji Soo of sexual misconduct, causing shock and outrage.

As a result of the allegations, Ji Soo stepped down from his lead role in KBS 2TV’s drama “River Where the Moon Rises”. The drama had completed up to 90% of filming and had already aired 6 episodes. However, due to the controversy, Ji Soo was replaced by actor Na In-woo, and the production incurred significant financial losses due to re-shooting and other expenses.

He stated that there was no justification for his past behaviors and that his actions were unforgivable. He denied most of the allegations, especially those related to sexual misconduct. Following his withdrawal from the drama, he enlisted in October 2021 as a public service worker.

Born in 1993, Ji Soo made his debut in 2015 with MBC’s drama “Angry Mom”. He gained recognition with roles in SBS’s drama “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”, KakaoTV’s “Amanza” and OCN’s “Bad Guys 2”.
