A team with a different class,” LE SSERAFIM debuts with big names BTS, GFRIEND, and IZ*ONE behind them

LE SSERAFIM held the showcase for its debut album “Pearless” at Jangchung Gymnasium in Jangchung-dong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of Oct 2nd and said, “We will show you how our team is in different classes.”

LE SSERAFIM received attention early as HYBE’s first girl group, and as IZ*ONE’s Sakura and Kim Chae-won‘s new girl group. In addition to Sakura and Kim Chae-won, the group consists of six multinational members, including Heo Yoon-jin who made her name and face known through “Produce 48,” Kazuha, Kim Ga-ram, and Hong Eun-chae.

In particular, Sakura and Kim Chae-won, who has worked together as IZ*ONE, re-debut together as LE SSERAFIM, is drawing attention.

Sakura, who will re-debut with LE SSERAFIM after HKT48 and IZ*ONE, said, “This is my third debut, so I feel more burdened and I think I should do better. I have worked very hard to prepare for my debut to show you my improved self. Please pay a lot of attention to LE SSERAFIM.”

Kim Chae-won also said, “I’m so nervous because it’s been a year since my last official event. I have been preparing for my debut while training hard, and I was able to discover new aspects in the process. I’ll show you better performance through my activities with LE SSERAFIM.”

LE SSERAFIM, a backward form of “I’m Fearless”, contained the members’ self-confidence and strong will to move forward without fear and without being swayed by the eyes of the world.

Kazuha said, “Producer Bang Si-hyuk came up with the idea which turns I’m Fearless into “LE SSERAFIM.” That’s why I think it’s more meaningful.”

HYBE, considered a “boy group master” after creating global boy groups such as BTS, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and ENHYPEN, will launch the first girl group LE SSERAFIM in collab with Source Music, which succeeded in making GFRIEND. Bang Si-hyuk, the “father of BTS,” produced the song and Kim Sung-hyun, who served as visual creative director of BTS, helped in building the visual for LE SSERAFIM.

Sakura said, “It would be a lie to say that we are not burdened as HYBE’s first girl group. It was burdensome but we are also grateful for such great interest. While talking with the members and the production team, we talked about ‘Let’s do what we can rather than be conscious of the eyes around us’ and ‘Let’s show them what we are.’ We’ll show you this side of us in this album.”

Kim Chae-won said, “From the concept of our debut album to the lyrics of our title song, we discussed constantly with the production team and decided on it. Producer Bang Si-hyuk also advised, “This is your story, so it would be good to express it confidently and proudly.”

Kazuha then said, “When we planned this album, we had a lot of time to talk honestly with each other,” and Hong Eun-chae said, “Whenever I felt this pressure, I would spend some time to relieve this pressure, saying, ‘We’re Fearless.'”

Through “Fearless,” LE SSERAFIM begins an epic journey that no one has ever been to, following their desire to be the best. The members put forward hopeful words such as “future” and “emergency” to deliver a strong message that “protecting me and my desires is the most valuable thing.”

The title song “Fearless” in the album of the same name is a funk-based alternative pop genre song containing the bold image of LE SSERAFIM, who moves forward without being held down by the past.

The song features strong lyrics expressing the strong will of LE SSERAFIM, who chose to become the best rather than compromise with the world, such as ‘Your words telling me to hide my greed are so strange, I don’t do anything like acting humble anymore’ and ‘Bring it to me forever.’

Sakura said, “It takes a lot of courage to show the real me. I think I’ll be truly ‘fearless’ when I overcome this”, she said. “We put a message in this album, and I think we can deliver it well.”

Kim Chae-won said, “I and Sakura were active as IZ*ONE, and Heo Yun-Jin was known through her appearance in a survival show, so an image was already formed about us. In this album, we melted in our will which is to move forward without being swayed by the world’s gaze.”

LE SSERAFIM did not hide its confidence to become the top girl group in the K-pop world by adding synergy between the new members to Sakura and Kim Chae-won‘s know-how, who have worked as IZ*ONE before.

Sakura said, “It’s nice to be able to work with (Kim) Chae-won. I will show you a better side of me with the new members here.” Kim Chae-won added, “Now that I am the leader of the team, I feel more responsible for my activities than before.”

Hong Eun-chae said, “I think we are a group that expresses who we are through songs and performances. It would be an honor for us if someone felt that they wanted to be like LE SSERAFIM,” he said. “We will be a group that has a good influence through our honest music with honest stories.”

Sakura said, “As many people have been looking forward to, we will do our best to show you what a team with a different class is.”

LE SSERAFIM will release the album “Fearless” at 6 pm on the same day and begin their activities with the title song of the same name.
