A side-by-side comparison of BABYMONSTER’s and BLACKPINK’s dance skills: Can BABYMONSTER go as far as BLACKPINK?

The dance skills of these two YG girl groups are the talk of the town at the moment.

BABYMONSTER recently concluded the member introduction series after introducing Haram to the public. Each member was shown with a strength that enabled them to have a bright future in the industry. Moreover, as the group inches closer to their debut, fans start placing them side by side with BLACKPINK

BABYMONSTER left an impression with their heavily influenced hip-hop style that was eye-catching and captivating. However, to the trained eyes, viewers managed to spot a few errors during their dance. Therefore, some netizens commented that BABYMONSTER still had a long way to go, considering their predebut video alone.

Meanwhile, fans are looking back to BLACKPINK’s predebut dance practice video. They believed that the choreography was in a faster pace, more physically demanding and, yet, precisely executed.

However, netizens also acknowledged that BABYMONSTER’s dance performance showcase still missed two Thai members, Pharita and Chiquita, with Chiquita being a capable dancer. Therefore, it is still early to conclude anything about BABYMONSTER.

Several netizens’ comments:

  • BLACKPINK’s choreography was faster and harder. Lisa was so captivating.
  • BLACKPINK’s choreography was more difficult and they executed it nicely. BABYMONSTER’s routine was also difficult but they were behind beat.
  • BLACKPINK had a more physically demanding choreography, while BABYMONSTER follows a hip-hop dancing style. The clip also missed two members so it’s hard to judge.
