Jay Park Almost Debuted With BIGBANG Instead Of 2PM? “I Sang And Danced With GD & Taeyang”
Singer Jay Park appeared on Daesung’s YouTube and revealed the story of when he almost became a member of BIGBANG
On July 19th, the YouTube channel “Zip Daesung” uploaded a new video titled “MC Daesung Nasty Jaebeom”.
Jay Park, who appeared as a guest, asked Daesung, “What’s your favorite song of BIGBANG?”. Daesung picked “LAST DANCE” and said, “I like the ballad songs among our songs”.
Jay Park said, “I like ‘A Fool Of Tears”, surprising Daesung with his mention of a song from BIGBANG’s debut album.
Daesung then asked, “How do you know that song? In 2006, you were… That was during your trainee days, right?”. Jay Park replied, “As a trainee, I was like, ‘Wow, so cool’, ‘Ah, I want to do something like that, too’, etc. R&B, hip-hop… and even their style. There weren’t many boy groups who could handle everything well back then. You seemed to do it so well. I got a lot of inspiration from then. I was a big fan of yours”, praising BIGBANG.
Daesung continued, “Oh, last time, Sunye visited us. I heard you were originally supposed to join BIGBANG”. As Jay Park was surprised, the production staff commented, “I said it. Yang Hyun-suk mentioned it on ‘K-pop Star’”.
Jay Park said to Daesung, “We could’ve ended in the same boy band”. Daesung shyly responded, “Or I might’ve lost my spot… Thank you”, drawing laughter.
Daesung later asked, “Did you have any interactions with YG as a trainee?”. Jay Park shared, “I went to the YG building with GD and Taeyang. We sang and danced in front of the chairmen”.
Recalling the past, Daesung said, “At that time, the rest of the trainees, those who were not called, were on the lower floors. They were like, ‘Hey, I heard there’s a battle going on upstairs’, ‘Hey, a trainee from JYP is here now’, ‘Jiyong and Youngbae went upstairs’, etc.”
