The Prime Minister of Thailand praises Lisa (BLACKPINK) for promoting Thai culture in her solo debut MV
Lisa’s LALISA MV has left an absolutely unforgettable impression on Thai people!
Recently, the National News Bureau of Thailand issued a statement from the country’s Prime Minister – General Prayut Chan-o-cha: “Appreciation for Lalisa ‘Lisa’ Manoban, a member of South Korean hit group Blackpink, for featuring the Phanom Rung Stone Castle and Thai craftsmanship in the MV for the first single released in her solo album of the same name Lalisa.”.
The fact that the whole Thailand is “crazy” about Lisa’s solo debut is something everyone can see, but being specifically praised by the head of the Thai Government is something the BLACKPINK maknae should definitely be immensely proud of!
Specifically, in the LALISA MV, BLACKPINK’s youngest member drew the world’s attention when she brought in Thai elements by wearing traditional costumes, a delicately crafted crown, on the background of the sound inspired by Thai music. Moreover, Lisa also included a model of Phanom Rung stone castle in this impressive filming set.
Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana also said Prime Minister Prayut expressed his “willingness to promote the country’s soft power, increasing the value of the creative economy after the dramatic effect” that Lisa’s LALISA MV brings.
Mr. Thanakorn said Gen Prayut also believed this phenomenon will bolster the confidence of Thai industry and fashion design in applying Thai culture to be produced as merchandise to increase economic value.
Thai Prime Minister assessed that MV LALISA increases the “soft power” of the country.
