67-year-old actress plays the role of 17-year-old girl “How young is she?”

With the recent release of the online movie “Ice Sniper 2”, Chinese audiences are angry that actress Liu Xiaoqing (67) played the female lead.

On July 22nd, the online movie “Ice Sniper 2” was released. Through this movie, 67-year-old actress Liu Xiaoqing challenged the role of a “17-year-old girl” and showed her breathtaking acting skills as well as amazing youthful appearance. On the other hand, when a junior actor who is nearly 20 years younger than her played her father, Chinese netizens criticized, “The description is unrealistic and far-fetched.”

The movie “Ice Sniper 2” tells the story of Yang Jianfeng, a sniper hero who leads a guerrilla unit to eliminate the remaining forces of the Kuomintang and the Japanese army in the past. In the play, Liu Xiaoqing not only shows her cute and lively appearance, but also boasts her strength through action scenes and fierce battle scenes.

The audience said, “Liu Xiaoqing’s acting skills are still great, and it’s amazing how perfectly she interprets this role.” However, as Liu Xiaoqing played the role of a 17-year-old girl and a junior actor who is 18 years younger than her played her father, many netizens criticized the casting as incomprehensible.

Liu Xiaoqing

In the past, Liu Xiaoqing played a role much younger than her actual age. Liu Xiaoqing took on the role of 16-year-old Ouyang Feiyan in the 2014 drama “Heroes of Sui and Tang Dynasties 3”. She said in an interview at that time, “I always like to try different roles and don’t want to be fixed on a certain image.” She added honestly, “I’m not young, but my passion and pursuit for acting remain unchanged. I want to show different charms by constantly challenging myself.”

Meanwhile, Liu Xiaoqing was the most sought after actress before the “tax evasion scandal”. In 2002, Liu Xiaoqing was arrested for tax evasion in connection with her company Beijing Xiaoqing Culture and Arts Company Ltd.. Her tax evasion exceeded 10 million RMB (about 1.78 billion won) and a large portion of her private property was transferred to France and Canada, which caused great controversy.
