“12.12: The Day” Cameos Jung Hae-in, Lee Joon-hyuk & Jung Man-sik Appear In Military Uniforms

Jung Man-sik, Jung Hae-in and Lee Joon-hyuk made special appearances in “12.12: The Day”

Released on November 22nd, the movie “12.12: The Day” (director Kim Sung-soo) depicts the nine-hour rush to prevent a rebellion by the new military force that took place in the capital of Seoul city on December 12th, 1979.

Jung Man-sik will appear as Major General Gong Soo-hyuk, one of the three commanders of defense in Seoul metropolitan area together alongside Lee Tae-shin (Jung Woo-sung) and Kim Joon-yeop (Kim Sung-kyun). He is expected to leave a strong impression on viewers with his unique charisma. Director Kim Sung-soo said, “Gong Soo-hyuk had to be portrayed by Jung Man-sik. Only he can play such a strong man who is willing to sacrifice to protect the honor and pride of the Special Forces”.  

12.12-The Day

Jung Hae-in takes on the role of Major Oh Jin-ho, a Special Forces officer who stands by the commander until the end of the 4th Special Forces Unit’s attacks. Impressed by Jung Hae-in’s powerful performance in Netflix’s “D.P”, director Kim asked “D.P” director Han Joon-hee for help and successfully cast Jung Hae-in for the cameo role. Regarding Jung Hae-in’s character, director Kim Sung-soo said, “Major Oh Jin-ho is a courageous and responsible man. He’s a true soldier”.

12.12-The Day

In addition, Lee Joon-hyuk will become a security officer for Jeong Sang-ho (Lee Sung-min), raising viewers’ expectations. Director Kim said he was very surprised when Lee Joo-hyuk agreed to appear in the movie although it was not a big role. In response, the actor said, “I decided to join because the story was interesting and I wanted to appear in a scene directed by PD Kim Sung-soo”. The director continued, “Whenever he came to the set, he always looked happy and enjoyed the filming. He’s soft, gentle and pure. He has many charms so I want to meet him again with a better character next time if I have a chance.”
