Veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung has signed a contract with the American agency CAA.
On January 10th, the US media Deadline reported, “Youn Yuh Jung, who became the first Korean actor to win an Academy Award in 2021, has signed a contract with CAA.”
Youn Yuh Jung took on a role in Apple TV’s original series “Pachinko” released last year. She starred in the 2021 movie “Minari” and won Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd American Academy Awards.
She has also achieved a total of 42 awards at leading film festivals around the world, including the British Academy Award, the American Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the American Independent Film Award.
Youn Yuh Jung is currently off to America for season 2 of “Pachinko”. He recently terminated her contract with her former agency Hook Entertainment.
Hook was revealed by Dispatch to have not settled Lee Seung Gi’s music revenue for 18 years after his debut. Evidence of Hook’s power abuse, using abusive language, and corporate card private were also exposed.
Youn Yuh Jung plans to focus on her US activities with CAA after parting ways with Hook. CAA is one of the largest agencies in the United States. CAA houses Hollywood actors Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, pop singer Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber. “Squid Game” actors Lee Jung Jae, Jung Ho Yeon, and director Hwang Dong Hyuk have also signed contracts with CAA.
