Yoo Ah In attended arrest warrant review, admitted to some parts of the drug charges

Actor Yoo Ah In (Uhm Hong Sik), who is on the verge of being arrested for drug use, appeared in court for a warrant review.

Yoo Ah In presented at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul at 10:30 a.m. on May 24th (KST) for a suspect questioning before being arrested.

Yoo Ah In, who showed up in a black suit and tie, answered several questions from reporters before the warrant review. When reporters asked, “Do you admit to taking cocaine?”, “Is it true that you tried to help your accomplice escape?”, and so on, Yoo Ah In replied, “I admit to some parts of the drug charges”, “I did not attempt to help accomplices flee away”, etc.

However, he refused to answer the question, “What are you going to explain for yourself in court today?”,

Yoo Ah In is accused of habitually administering drugs, such as propofol, marijuana, cocaine, and ketamine. According to the forensic result, narcotics, four types of narcotics were found in his hair and urine. The police are also investigating whether Yoo Ah Min took Zolpidem for medical purposes or not.

The police then applied for a preliminary arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In on May 19th, stating the high risk of the suspect destroying evidence and fleeing. The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office also requested an arrest warrant on the 22nd. It is because the police caught Yoo Ah In failing to help his accomplice A flee abroad.

In addition to A, the police are investigating two other acquaintances of Yoo Ah In as suspects on charges of helping and directly taking drugs.

When asked about the reason for the arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In and A, a police officer said, “It is because of his denial of crime, as well as the increase in drug types and frequency of drug use”.

Yoo Ah In was summoned twice by the police on March 27th and May 16th. The decision on whether Yoo Ah In will be arrested or not is expected to be announced as early as the evening of the 24th.
