Will the NewJeans syndrome continue with the new album “Get Up”?

NewJeans will release the new album “Get Up” ahead of their 1st anniversary, expected to continue the NewJeans syndrome.

According to NewJeans’ agency ADOR, NewJeans’ mini 2nd album “Get Up” will be released at 1 pm (KST) on July 21st, ahead of the group’s 1st debut anniversary.

This new album includes six tracks, including the triple title tracks “Super Shy”, “Cool with You”, and “ETA”, as well as B-side tracks “NewJeans”, “Get Up”, and “ASAP”.

With the pre-release songs, it seems that NewJeans is maintaining their characteristic of trendy yet easy-to-listen music in this album.

At the same time, their pre-release track, “Super Shy”, which combines trending jersey club beats with the dreamy vocals of the members, has already entered the US Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at 66th place, igniting another “NewJeans syndrome”.

Their other title track, “ETA”, which will be officially released on July 21st, is said to challenge the Latin hip-hop genre, specifically the Favela Funk style.

Popular producer 250, who was behind the production of NewJeans’ debut songs “Attention” and “Hype Boy”, took charge of composing this song, with rapper Beenzino participating in the lyrics.

In addition, through songs such as “Get Up” and “ASAP”, NewJeans’s new album also showcases the group’s unique music world, blending various genres such as UK garage, house, R&B, and Euro pop.

With their unconventional promotional approach of dropping MVs without previously releasing concept photos or teaser videos during their debut last year, NewJeans continues to attract attention with 6 MVs for all songs in “Get Up”.

The MV for “Cool with You”, which was released on the 20th, featured “Squid Game” star Jung Ho Yeon and Hong Kong celebrity actor Tony Leung, creating a buzz.

Meanwhile, as of July 20th, “Get Up” has achieved a pre-order quantity of 1.72 million copies, making it NewJeans’ third million-seller album, following their debut album “NewJeans” and single “OMG”.
