They added, “Audiences can change their mask three times according to the procedure instructed during the concert.”’

Finally, the agency said, “We will work hard with the remaining preparation works until the concert day and bring the best performance to you.

In fact, Psy’s “Splash Show” raised quite a few controversies before it was officially held. Criticism arose when the news that water festivals would be held amidst the severe drought in Korea broke out. In addition to the controversy over wet masks, Psy received a warning from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, saying “Masks that are soaked in water are at high risk of producing bacterias, so appropriate measures, such as mask replacement, are needed.”

In particular, a heated debate was raised on the famous women’s website “Women’s Generation” when a netizen revealed that they were told not to go to the “Splash Show”. On June 12th, actress Lee El also drew attention by posting on Twitter “I wish 300 tons of water for the Water Bomb concert were sprayed on the Soyang River” targeting the water festivals. Controversies over the pros and cons of water festivals, such as the “Water Bomb Seoul 2022” and “Psy’s Splash Show” have continued.
