Top 1% Korean Singers Earn $3.4M Per Year, Actors $1.6M And Models $0.3M

Survey revealed the annual income of celebrities, including singers, actors, and models, in 2021

According to the ‘2017-2021 Celebrity Income Status Classified By Industry’ sent to Kang Joon-hyun, a member of the National Assembly’s Strategy and Finance Committee on September 30th, it has been confirmed that the annual income of 7720 singers who reported their income in 2021 was about $381M in total. The average income per singer was approximately $50,000.

Among them, 77 people with the top 1% highest income earned a total of $262 billion won, which accounted for 68.9% of the overall singers’ income. In particular, the average annual income earned by each of these 77 top 1% people was $3.4M.

The average income of the top 1%% singers was $2.3M in 2017, $2.5M in 2018, $1.6M in 2019 and $1.3M in 2020.

In the case of actors’ income in 2021, the top 1% (160 people) earned $28M, which accounted for 48.6% of the overall figure. Each actor among the top 1% made approximately $1.6M that year.

As for models, 9536 people earned a total of $79M and the average annual income per person was $8300. The top 1% (95 models) received $32M, which was $0.3M per person.
