This A-list Actress Now Works As a Sanitation Worker, Waitress, and Housekeeper? 

On January 31, a video titled “I want to become a sanitation worker” was published on the YouTube channel of Choi Kang-hee, a once-renowned actress who left the Korean entertainment industry about 3 years ago. 

According to this video, the actress is currently working as an environmental sanitation worker. In particular, Choi Kang-hee openly shared with the public about her current working day, saying, “I went to work today to collect trash. It’s already midnight. But I feel really comfortable working outside in such an empty street. Next, I will go to the garbage incinerator.”

It is revealed Choi Kang-hee had also worked as a waitress, a dishwasher in a restaurant, and cleaned houses for many artists in the Kbiz industry. The actress also disclosed about her work, saying, “I clean the homes of some artists while strictly adhering to security measures for the apartments.”

Choi Kang-hee is currently an environmental sanitation worker. Her work begins at midnight.

Choi Kang-hee also recently agreed to participate in the filming of the show “Point Of Omniscient Interfere,” officially returning to television after 3 years of absence. In front of the camera, the once A-list actress revealed for the first time the story behind her decision to disappear from showbiz. 

“It’s true that I stopped acting in films 3 years ago. I told my family that I wanted to stop all showbiz activities and they agreed. I even changed my phone number and asked the management not to accept any more film scripts. Honestly, I didn’t feel happy. I’ve been involved in the arts for the past 25 years. Sometimes I wonder what else I can do well. So I tried everything. I went to school to learn about writing and editing, ready to work part-time”, she expressed.

On the other hand, Choi Kang-hee officially entered the entertainment industry in 1995 through the school drama “The New Generation Report: Adults Don’t Know.” The actress rose to stardom with the popular movie “Whispering Corridors.” Later on, she continued to achieve success in many popular TV dramas such as “Protect the Boss” and “7th Grade Civil Servant.”

Choi Kang-hee gained fame across Asia thanks to many successful acting projects.
