There are more aside from Ravi? The entertainment industry is sitting on fire due to the “enlistment broker” case

As VIXX Ravi was found to be involved in military service corruption, the entertainment industry is shaking as there might be more.

While a group of “military brokers” who helped evade military service with false medical certificates were arrested, Ravi (real name Kim Won Sik, 30), a rapper from the idol group VIXX, was also found to be involved in the service. The entertainment industry is going through a purge again.

Suspicions surrounding Ravi surfaced late last year when Cho Jae Sung, a member of OK Financial Group’s professional volleyball team, was found to have relation with a broker in the process of forensics on the brokers’ mobile phones. Based on the same proofs, a joint investigation team of the prosecution and the Military Manpower Administration recently booked Ravi on charges of violating the Military Service Act.

Before joining the military in October last year, Ravi said on his SNS, “I will fulfill my national defense obligations through social service, starting from October 27th, for health reasons.” However, all trust has been broken as he is suspected of using an enlistment evasion service.

When asked about Ravi’s enlistment date on a portal site in March last year, Koo, a military service broker, replied, “Ravi will join the military as a social service worker around the end of May this year.” Koo also attached hashtags such as “#No. 1 military service for health records,” and “#No. 1 in solving matters related to military health check” in his profile column.

Koo even added a promotional phrase at the end of his answer, saying, “If you have any inquyri, please add me. We will immediately give you an accurate free answer about the Military Service Act and the National Military Service Grading Regulations.” At the time of this post, Ravi was still appearing on KBS2’s entertainment program “2 Days 1 Night,” and details related to his enlistment plan were not disclosed to the media.

The prosecution believes that Ravi received a 4th-grade result to enlist as a social worker by lowering his physical grade by applying for a re-examination, claiming he was suffering from epilepsy. The prosecution plans to summon him soon to investigate related matters.

Meanwhile, 70 to 100 clients, including children of high-ranking government officials, sports players and entertainers, were found to have been exempted from military service through these military service brokers, according to the prosecution. In particular, among celebrities, in addition to Ravi, whose identity was revealed as the “Idol Rapper,” “a male actor in his 20s” is known to be included in the investigation, which is causing a stir.
