Following the “Dune” series, another new film of Timothée Chalamet is set to be released.

The film “Wonka” confirmed its domestic release on January 31st, 2024 and unveiled a teaser poster. “Wonka” tells the origin story of Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet), a character in the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, featuring his early days as a chocolatier.

The released poster captures Willy Wonka, surrounded by various chocolates in glass bottles, taking a step into the vast world. With the copy “The beginning of a story sweeter than chocolate”, it arouses curiosity about how Willy Wonka’s journey to fulfill the dream of becoming the world’s greatest chocolatier will unfold.

“Wonka” has already generated much attention with Hollywood’s leading actor Timothée Chalamet, known for his outstanding acting skills in works such as “Call Me by Your Name”, “Lady Bird”, “Dune” and “The French Dispatch”, taking on the title role of Willy Wonka. Timothée Chalamet is expected to vividly portray the passionate period of the magical chocolatier Willy Wonka with his unique charm.

Olivia Colman, who won Best Actress at the Academy Awards with “The Favourite”, Sally Hawkins, known for her powerful impressions in “Maudie” and “The Shape of Water”, and Rowan Atkinson, famous for the “Mr. Bean” series, have contributed their strength to the film.

Hugh Grant, a representative British actor known for works like “Notting Hill”, “About a Boy” and “Love Actually”, makes a bold transformation in the film, appearing as an Oompa-Loompa.

Directed by Paul King, known for bringing warm laughter and emotions with the “Paddington” series, expectations are high for “Wonka”.

“Wonka”, which was released for the first time in 37 countries including the UK, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Japan last week, claimed the top spot in 32 countries, earning $43.2 million in just 5 days at the global box office. With its release in more than 40 countries outside of North America this week, the film is expected to usher in a full-fledged success.

“Wonka” will be available in theaters nationwide starting from January 31st, 2024.
