New girl group IVE, who just debuted on the first day of December, has quickly received praise from Forbes
Forbes published an article by columnist Jeff Benjamin on its homepage on the 1st. The article was titled “The Number Behind The New K-pop Girl GroupsBoasting Global Potential”. In the article, Jeff Benjamin gave Starship’s newly debut rookie – IVE a lot of compliments.
Firstly, attention was paid to Ive’s debut. Jeff Benjamin said in the article, “December 1 welcomes new girl group IVE hitting the K-pop scene with a slew of statistics indicating an exciting international response is on the way for them despite the increasingly competitive and increasingly international Korean-music industry”, praising the group.
He then praised IVE, saying, “Consisting of members Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo, the sextet will debut from Korean super-label Starship Entertainment that’s helped a slew of artists like Sistar, Monsta X, WJSN and CRAVITY top the charts in both Korea and abroad.”
He also pointed out the achievements of IVE before the group’s official debut: “While IVE was only officially announced a month ago with the November 1st unveiling of their social media accounts, the groundwork for this group has technically been in the works for years to indicate big things for their future.”
He also complimented the fact that IVE has garnered a high number of views with various teasing content. “Not just the music, but viewers have made it abundantly clear how much they are supporting the IVE members themselves,” he said.
Meanwhile, IVE is a 6-member girl group under Starship Entertainment. The group currently consists of Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo. Among the 6 members, Jang Won Young and Ahn Yujin have been famous for nearly 3 years as they once participated in the survival show Produce 48 and then debuted as IZ*ONE members. The reputation of the 2 girls helped IVE soon attract a lot of attention. IVE officially debuted on December 1st, 2021 with the single album ‘Eleven’ and quickly gained 25M views for their 1st MV after just 3 days.
