The unexpected reason why Younha was invited as the only singer to the Korean President’s luncheon
Singer Younha attended the presidential luncheon meeting as the only artist.
According to Younha’s agency C9 Entertainment, Younha was invited to attend a luncheon presided over by the Korean President with the Office of the Presidential Secretary for Science and Technology on February 21.
The luncheon was held under the theme of “The Era of New Space, Meeting with Global Space Economy Pioneers”. Younha was invited as the only artist among major venture entrepreneurs in the space industry, emerging researchers, winners of space contests, and university students.
The President’s office explained, “As a cultural artist, Younha released an album based on space and has been promoting space culture.” Younha also introduced her 6th full repackage album “END THEORY: Final Edition”, saying, “Thanks to my songs about the stars and the universe, I’m able to be here.”
Younha personifies Voyager, which will arrive in the solar system in about 300 years. She also explained the background of her songs that are inspired by the universe, such as “Black Hole” and “Event Horizon”.
“This is a result that could not have been born without the achievements of science. I would like to express my gratitude and respect to the researchers who silently study in one field, the engineers who always design something new, and the technicians who realize it,” Younha said. She continued, “I also hope to support new discoveries and attempts through music.”
At the luncheon meeting on this day, President Yoon Seok Yeol revealed the Korean government’s will to support the space industry, saying, “The space economy will open up infinite opportunities. All activities that create related values, as well as space exploration and utilization, projectile and satellite development, launch, and operation, are space economy. The space industry will contribute to the development of various cutting-edge technologies and provide a better life for mankind.”
Regarding the “Space Aviation Administration”, which was a presidential election pledge, he emphasized, “We will make it the best expert-centered R&D platform. We will be with you on the journey to lead the space economy era.”
Meanwhile, Younha will hold the “2023 Younha Encore Concert c/2023YH” at the SK Handball Stadium in Olympic Park, Seoul on March 11 and 12.
