The reason why rumors of Brave Girls disbandment are circulating ahead of their 7th debut anniversary

Brave Girls are rumored to be disbanding ahead of their 7th debut anniversary, here’s why.

Brave Girls, who was unknown for a long time, gained popularity when their song “Rollin’” climbed back up the charts.

However, while they have not been making any significant progress lately, fans are paying attention to their future ahead of their 7th debut anniversary.

Brave Girls

Recently, a post titled “Girl group with one week left until contract expiration” was uploaded on an online community.

The post reads, “Brave Girls debuted on February 16, 2016. No comeback after Queendom. No news after concert cancellation.”

Brave Girls debuted as a 6-member group in 2011, then reorganized and re-debuted as a 4-member group in 2016.  However, it seemed that they stopped his activities without leaving a good impression on the public.

Then, in February 2021, the video of their “Rollin’” performance at the military base went viral and the song climbed back up on various music charts, helping Brave Girls receive attention from the public.

Since then, Brave Girls announced a splendid revival by earning records such as winning first place on music shows in 2021, taking first place on the Melon monthly chart for three consecutive months, and entering the daily chart for 547 days in a row.

Brave Girls have been active in order to continue the popularity they received after the success of “Rollin’”.

In June of the same year, their 5th mini album “SUMMER QUEEN” was released, and the title song “Chi Mat Ba Ram” maintained an upward trend.

With this power, in December 2022, the following year, Brave Girls were about to hold their first concert, but it was postponed indefinitely due to the spread of Coronavirus.

Brave Girls, whose contract with their agency expires in February this year, has virtually ceased activities since the release of their 6th mini album “Thank You” in March of last year.

In response, some fans even hung a banner criticizing the agency’s negligence near the agency.

Netizens left comments, “Why don’t they make a comeback?”, “How did Brave Girls find an opportunity to blow up but is now taking such a long break?”, “Now, indoor masks have changed from mandatory to recommended, so can’t you attend events?”, “Let’s do some activities now”, etc.

Brave Girls is head of the “7-year curse” as their contract with their current agency, Brave Entertainment, expires in February this year.

This is a jinx that was created because idol groups are usually contracted with entertainment agencies for up to 7 years according to the standard contracts established by the Fair Trade Commission.

Last year, their 7th year since debut, MAMAMOO members who were at the crossroads of renewing their contracts with their agency RBW started discussing early, and Solar and Moonbyul were the first to sign renewal contracts in January. Subsequently, in March, Hwasa renewed her contract, and after discussion, Wheein moved to another label. However, they remain a group.

If the members are not under one agency, it is difficult to carry out team activities in reality, but MAMAMOO said, “There will be no disbandment.”

On the other hand, Lovelyz disbanded after failing to survive the “7-year curse.” In November of last year, Woollim Entertainment, Lovelyz’s agency, said, “The exclusive contract between us and the members of Lovelyz is set to expire on November 16, 2021. Seven members except Babysoul will not renew their contracts.”
