By being cast in “Squid Game 2”, Noh Jae Won is expected to gain global popularity 3 years after his debut. In addition, there are anticipations that he will repeat the success of Wi Ha Joon, whose popularity sky-rocketed after his appearance in “Squid Game” season 1.

In particular, in “Squid Game”, Wi Ha Joon played the role of Hwang Jun Ho, who infiltrated a mysterious survival game to pursue his brother’s secret, and achieved a remarkable rise in terms of awareness. At the time, Wi Ha Joon, who was in his 5th year after debut, saw his social media followers increase more than tenfold, and was even appointed as a PR ambassador for Wando County in Jeollanam-do, his hometown.

On the other hand, “Squid Game” is a Netflix series directed and written by Hwang Dong Hyuk, which depicts the story of people who participate in a mysterious survival game and risk their lives to win 45.6 billion won.

Season 1 of the drama featured actors such as Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Oh Young Soo, Wi Ha Joon, Jung Ho Yeon, Heo Sung Tae, Kim Joo Ryoung, Gong Yoo, and Lee Byung Hun, and within about a month, became the most-watched Netflix original series.

For Season 2 of “Squid Game”, which is known to have a total production cost of over 100 billion won, actors Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, and Gong Yoo, will be reprising their roles. Moreover, Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun have been introduced as new cast members.

After completing the casting process, “Squid Game 2” will begin filming this summer with the aim to be released in 2024.

Meanwhile, Noh Jae Won is currently filming the new drama “Uncle Sam Sik” (literal translation).
