Actress Tang Wei shared China's reactions to the on-screen couple of Park Bo-gum and Suzy in "Wonderland"
In an interview held in Jongno-gu, Seoul on June 3rd, Tang Wei talked about “Wonderland”, “Watching this movie was a feast for the eyes. The couples were so beautiful.“
Tang Wei mentioned Park Bo-gum and Suzy’s appearance on “The Seasons” for promotional purposes, “I watched it and thought, ‘Wow.’ How could they look so good together? It felt like a tonic for the eyes. It was a visual treat.“
She also shared the reactions from China. Tang Wei said, “Every day on Weibo, there are talks about the Park Bo-gum and Suzy couple. People say they really look good together and hope they become a real couple. These kinds of comments are common. Even Chinese media are saying they hope the two become a couple. I particularly felt this when they looked at each other while singing in the movie. I was like, ‘Wow.’“
Tang Wei made her screen debut in 2007 with director Ang Lee’s film “Lust, Caution” and entered the Korean film industry with “Late Autumn” directed by Kim Tae-yong, with whom she later tied the knot. She became the first foreigner to win the Best Actress Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for her role in director Park Chan-wook’s film “Decision to Leave”.
In “Wonderland”, her first collaboration with her husband in a long time, Tang Wei plays Bai Li, a global fund manager living in Korea. Upon learning that she does not have much time left, she requests the Wonderland service to stay close to her young daughter.
“Wonderland” is a story about reuniting with a departed family member or lover via video call. The film is set to be released on June 5th.
