On March 10th (local time), American media outlet Page Six reported that after various rumors of a “feud” between Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa, the two seems to have worked things out.
Selena Gomez, who is greatly loved as an icon of American teenagers, underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 while fighting lupus. At the time, she received a kidney transplant from fellow actress and close friend Francia Raisa.
However, after the surgery, Selena did not take care of her body health, and would engage in acts such as alcohol drinking, much to Francia Raisa’s dismay. As a result, Selena and Francia’s relationship became estranged.
The two seemed to have reconciled after a year, only to get into conflict again after Selena Gomez said in a documentary interview that Taylor Swift is her only friend in the industry. Despite Francia Raisa being an actress and giving Selena one kidney of hers, she was not mentioned.
In the end, after watching Selena Gomez’s documentary interview, Francia Raisa left a comment saying, “Interesting” and unfollowed Selena Gomez on social media, once again sparking rumors of a feud.
Meanwhile, Selena clapped back with the comment, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
However, in a recently released interview for Apple TV+’s “Dear”, Selena mentioned Francia again, expressing her gratitude for the kidney donation.
“My best friend. Her name is Francia”, Selena Gomez said, adding, “I will never, ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”
Through Selena’s remarks, it seems that the two friends have reached a reconciliation once again.
