The after-effects of enduring harsh diet for a perfect body profile revealed by a girl group member

Solar, who told many episodes about her body profile shootings, has just made a solo comeback with the song “HONEY”.

In a comeback interview, MAMAMOO Solar talked about the side effects that occurred after filming her body profile.

She regretted shooting her body profile, saying, “After filming my body profile last year, I gained nearly 10kg due to the severe yo-yo effect”, adding, “I was very confused when I reached the maximum weight in my life”.

After that, Solar took care of her body again for a comeback and she said she often worked out for about 3 hours to burn all the amount of food she ate.

Earlier in 2021, Solar appeared on KBS2’s “Boss in the Mirror” and began a take harsh training with fitness trainer Yang Chi-seung for a body profile shoot. As a result, she showed off her tiny waist which clearly revealed her 11 line abs. 

On her Youtube channel “Solarsido”, the female singer boasted her body fat rate of 16% and 20kg muscles as well as announcing that the body profile shooting was completed successfully.

However, behind her perfect body figure was considerable suffering. It is said that she had to limit her intake of water for the filming. 

Fitness trainer Yang Chi-seung and Solar had to work on their filming schedules until just before the cover model shooting. The two, who reached their physical limit due to extreme diet and moisture control, felt dizzy during the long shooting. Lying down with an exhausted appearance in front of her self-camera, Solar said, “Everything will be over if I try to endure only today. My mouth is already too dry”.

Meanwhile, Solar released her first mini-album “容: FACE” at 6 P.M on March 16th. The title song is “HONEY” and it is about people seducing each other sweetly, just like bees give honey to the queen bee. 

Solar, who has always been interested in performances, showed her passion by actively participating in the album production. She said, “Since there would be many choreographies that are unprecedentedly difficult, I hope fans would enjoy and have fun while watching (the performance)”.

Other MAMAMOO members also showed their support for Solar’s solo activity. In particular, it is said that the members were really surprised to know Solar, who has been so well-known for her ability as a vocalist, attempt to include rap in her album.

After releasing the new song, Solar will meet fans with various content, including music show performances. “Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I couldn’t meet my fans on music shows so it didn’t give me the feeling of a real performance”, she said. Solar also asked fans to look forward to her future activities, saying, “Instead, I want to hold a solo concert this year and a face-to-face fansigning event to show various sides of me”.
