Second lead of “Descendants of the Sun” after 7 years: unrecognizable with long hair and unique image

Once famous for his role as the second male lead in “Descendants of the Sun”, the current status of this actor surprises a lot of people.

After starring in the blockbuster drama “Descendants of the Sun” as the second lead, Jin Goo quickly became a prominent name. At the time, Jin Goo was highly praised for his acting skills and manly appearance, as well as his on-screen chemistry with actress Kim Ji Won, which made them one of the most iconic supporting couples in Korean television.

In fact, due to the immense popularity of “Descendants of the Sun”, the “couple” were invited to make a cameo appearance in “Mr. Sunshine”, where they played a married couple who sacrificed themselves for the nation. 

Through “Descendants of the Sun”, the show’s stars, including Song Hye Kyo, Song Joong Ki, and Kim Ji Won, all gained huge successes and progressed in their career. However, Jin Goo seemed to struggle, as despite playing main roles in various projects, none of the actor’s works  surpassed the shadow of “Descendants of the Sun”. While still popular with his own stable fanbase, Jin Goo’s career simply hasn’t truly taken off.

On the other hand, Jin Goo’s recent appearance, which is revealed through his personal SNS, has taken a lot of people by surprise. In particular, the actor, now 42 years old, has been boasting a long hairstyle and slightly rugged fashion – a huge contrast to his previous image. 

It is known that he will participate in the film “I’ll Take the Trip for You” (also known as “I Will Travel For You” with a minor role, raising speculations that the actor grew his hair long to immerse in this new project.
