Ryu Seung-ryong Talks About “Moving”, “I Could Perform Many Intense Actions Scenes Before Getting Old”

Actor Ryu Seung-ryong revealed his experience of acting in Disney+’s drama “Moving”

Disney+’s original series “Moving” is an action-hero drama about children living in the present hiding their superpowers and parents hiding painful secrets in the past. Ryu Seung-ryong plays Jang Ju-won, who has healing abilities and worked as Kim Doo-sik (Jo In-sung)’s partner at NIS. Since his wife Ji-hee (Kwak Sun-young) died, he ran away from NIS and has been raising his daughter Hee-soo (Go Yoon-jung), who inherits his superpower, alone.

Regarding “Moving”, Ryu Seung-ryong shared, “I was a fan of the original work. Each character has a long narrative and they are all highlighted in the story in cooperation with each other. There was a concern that dramas these days are no longer 16-episode long while ‘Moving’ was made with 20 episodes. However, I believed in Kang Full’s insistence on proving the standards of the story.”

In the drama, Ryu Seung-ryong portrayed Jang Joo-won from his 20s to his 40s. He shared, “At first, I thought another actor would play the role in his 20s. But they said they would leave it to me. But I think the production team captured all the characters well. That’s Kang Full’s determination”.

Jang Joo-won is basically a warm-hearted person. After meeting Ji-hee, he was guided in the right way and lived a completely different life. In order to protect Jang Hee-soo, he works as a daily worker and enters the coal mine. He said, “All of his cute, affectionate and passionate appearances in ‘Moving’ were well-arranged. It’s possible because the story is long. Jang Joo-won develops through a series of events and I felt very happy as an actor who played the character”.

Revealing that he was grateful to be able to perform action scenes as much as he wanted before getting older, Ryu Seung-ryong confessed, “I practiced countless times to finish the action shoots safely. The action scene with Frank (Ryu Seung-beom) was placed in Chapter 7. I flew and fell a lot in the action scene with Doo-sik and we also proved our close relationship as partners”.

Lastly, the actor said, “Jang Joo-won’s action scenes are also emotional. They showcase his heart to protect his precious things. Since I acted those scenes, they were more intense, desperate, and attractive to me”.
