Ryu Jun-yeol Stops Reviewing “Delusion”, “To Avoid Causing Damage To The Project”

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol has reportedly suspended his review of the casting for the project “Delusion” by director Han Jae-rim

On April 2nd, Ryu Jun-yeol’s side said to OSEN, “The actor was in the early stage of his review of ‘Delusion’, and it is true that the review was already suspended by the production company”.

The agency explained, “In order to cause no damage to the project, the actor felt responsible for this so he agreed to suspend the review”.

According to the film industry, Ryu Jun-yeol initially considered joining “Delusion” movie project, but he was observing the situation because there was a possibility that it would be made into a series.

On the same day, the production company Showbox said, “The casting of Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee for ‘Delusion’ was still under discussion. However, since the plan was still unconfirmed, related discussions have been suspended for the time being”, announcing the suspension of the casting discussion.

Directed by Han Jae-rim, “Delusion” is set in the Japanese colonial era in 1935. It tells about a painter who was commissioned to draw a portrait of a beautiful yet mysterious woman. Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, the planning and scenarios are produced by director Han Jae-rim’s production company Magnum Nine and Showbox.

In particular, the casting of Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee was reported on March 6th even though the production was still in the early stage. Han So-hee was expected to take on the role of the female lead while Ryu Jun-yeol was reviewing the role of a man who falls for the female lead. 

Shortly after then, Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee publicized their romantic relationship. However, controversy arose and they eventually broke up after two weeks. As such, attention was on whether the two would reunite in “Delusion” even after their breakup, but it ended up falling through.
