Ravi excluded from the list of people indicted for corruption in military service despite suspicion of faking epilepsy

Rapper Ravi has been excluded from the list of those who evaded military service.

On February 9th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office and the Military Manpower Administration’s “Joint Military Service Evasion Investigation Team” indicted a total of 47 people, including 42 military service evaders and 5 family members and acquaintances who helped them, without detention on charges of violating the Military Service Act and obstructing public affairs.

The list included professional soccer players, athletes in golf, badminton, horseback riding, training, and rowing, as well as medical students.

Actor Song Deok Ho, who was judged to be a grade 4 social worker for faking symptoms of epilepsy through a military service broker, was also listed on the list of indictments.

However, Ravi was excluded from the list. It is not known specifically why he was excluded.

Ravi joined the military as a social service worker in October last year and was charged with violating the Military Service Act after only three months of service.

Ravi is suspected of having received a grade 4 supplementary grade by having his physical grade lowered through an application of reexamination of his physical condition, saying that he was suffering from epilepsy.

At the time, Ravi’s agency said, “Because this is related to the duty of national defense, it seems reasonable to first find out the details and explain them in detail. We will conduct an investigation faithfully at any time.”

Meanwhile, Song Deok Ho, who was on the list of indictments, admitted to the charges of evading military service through his agency on January 31.

At the time, the agency said, “Song Deok Ho was looking for information on the Internet to postpone his enlistment last summer. After consulting a blog run by a broker, he was judged as a grade 4 social worker through an unfair method, not a postponement of military service.”
