Finally… “LOONA”, the group which suffered many unfair things, has received good news

Girl group LOONA (Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Yeojin, Vivi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Gowon, Olivia Hye) will return this summer.

According to Star News on May 25th, LOONA will make a comeback with a new album in June.

They are currently showing outstanding performances on Mnet’s music program “Queendom 2“. On February 28th, it was announced that LOONA would not be participating in the recording for the first round held on the same day as Haseul, Yeojin and Vivi were diagnosed with COVID-19 few days prior to the recording, which saddened fans. However, “SHAKE IT” (Cover Song Battle) and “Queen is Me” (Position Unit Battle) achieved excellent results and high popularity. In particular, LOONA’s “SHAKE IT” topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart on April 26th.

LOONA will return this summer thanks to the popularity of “Queendom 2”. The new album will be released in about 9 months after the Japanese debut single “HULA HOOP/StarSeed~Kakusei~” in September last year. Rumor has it that LOONA is working hard to prepare as they have not released a Korean album for a long time.

As many artists including former IZ*ONE member Jo Yuri, Wonho and woo!ah! announced their comeback in June, attention is focused on whether LOONA will be able to become summer queen.

Meanwhile, LOONA, which performed as sub-units in 2016, debuted as a full group in August 2018. The group received attention as a performance powerhouse by releasing title songs such as “Hi High”, “So What” and “Why Not?” In particular, they are showing a scary momentum as their third mini-album “12:00” entered the “Billboard 200” and topped the iTunes album charts in 51 countries.
