“That’s groundless news”… Park Eun-bin revealed her reactions to fake news in a recent interview
Actress Park Eun-bin expressed her concerns about fake news related to her that is spreading online.
Park Eun-bin played the role of Woo Young-woo, a rookie attorney with a genius brain and autism spectrum disorder, in the ENA’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” (scripted by Moon Ji-won/ directed by Yoo In-sik), which made a big hit. Park Eun-bin gained favorable reviews for her perfect transformation into the character with her detailed acting, from her voice tone to hand gestures, way of walking, and eyes.
Park Eun-bin recently spent time sharing her thoughts after “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” ended through an interview at a cafe in Apgujeong, Seoul.
During the interview, Park Eun-bin mentioned her “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” co-stars Kang Ki-young (as Jung Myung-seok), Kang Tae-oh (as Lee Joon-ho), Joo Jong-hyuk (as Kwon Min-woo), and Ha Yoon-kyung (as Choi Soo-yeon) and said, “I think the chemistry between Hanbada members was the best.”
Expressing her gratitude, Park Eun-bin said, “There were so many lines I had to memorize while playing Woo Young-woo, and there were many times when I was struggling because we filmed continuously every day for seven months straight, but the team members filled in the gap for me. For example, when filming the court scene, if someone had a hard time, the others would help that person recharge quickly with positive energy. I remember that we took care of each other and became each other’s batteries.
The love line between Woo Young-woo and Lee Joon-ho drew huge attention. However, there were some people who disapproved of it because they considered the love line unnecessary for Woo Young-woo’s growth. Park Eun-bin hesitated for a moment and answered, “I personally thought about ‘do a person grow only through love?’ in accordance with human society”.
The actress continued, “The writer said similar things to me. She told me that it was a good growth when you can invite others who can fill you up to a world full of your individualities. It think it would be more meaningful for Young-woo to combine the world made up of ‘me’ and ‘you’, who knows ‘me’ and ‘yourself’ well, instead of living in her own world all alone.”
Regarding Tactician Kwon Min-woo and Spring Sunshine Choi Soo-yeon, Park Eun-bin said, “Everyone will experience bumping into people around you since you’re in the community, and Young-woo has Choi Soo-yeon and Kwon Min-woo next to her. I believed the two with completely different images created a balance. Some people are like this while others are like that. I think we have shown you all kinds of people in the society through this drama.”
Referring to Season 2, she said, “I remember that I was very surprised when I saw the articles for the first time”, adding “I think the reason why the viewers are looking forward to season 2 is that they loved Woo Young-woo so much. It is true that I feel pressured. As much as the love we received, I think we will have to be confident to make a sequel that can go beyond the original work to repay the love and expectations of the viewers”.
Along with the huge popularity of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, Park Eun-bin’s past video and personal information have been re-examined in various online communities. In addition, fake news, such as “Park Eun-bin getting assaulted”, was created one after another on Youtube.
Regarding this, Park Eun-bin said, “I don’t watch many videos on YouTube, so I don’t see any videos related to me. I don’t even remember videos of my childhood, but it seems like many broadcasting stations are doing some throwbacks in a bad way. I just can’t say thank you to them (smiles)”, drawing laughter.
Park Eun-bin continued, “Of course, I am grateful to see people looking back on the precious filmography of when I was a kid, but what I felt now is that there seems to be more distorted information than I thought”, voicing concerns about false news.
She emphasized, “There are more stories related to my privacy than I thought. Many people were worried about me as they told me to be careful and ‘I’m afraid you will get hurt’, but all the rumors and such news are groundless”.
Talking about putting her life into acting, Park Eun-bin shared, “As an actor, I don’t have the big dream of pursuing the truth. I don’t want to walk the path of such a veteran. I don’t think I’m giving up all my life on acting, and I’m still enjoying my life.”
Lastly, Park Eun-bin, who has not been able to take a rest even after “Extraordinary Attorney Woo ended, greeted, “Now that when the series of events pass by and become a lull, I personally think I should rest and travel for the first time in a long time, then review my next work. I haven’t decided on any work nor reviewed any scenarios. I will think about what to show you in the second half of this year. Please look forward to me.”
