After days of anticipation, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha starring Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho has finally aired. The first episode that aired last night recorded an average rating of 6.8% nationwide; the highest rating recorded in episode 1 of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha was 8.1%. In particular, among the key viewer demographic of those aged 20 to 49, it garnered a national average of 3.7% and a high of 4.4% viewership rating, ranking it first place for its time slot across all channels, including public broadcast networks.
With such an impressive record, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha leads the viewership ratings in the list of movies in the same time slot. It even usurped Song Joong Ki’s blockbuster Arthdal Chronicles, reaching the top 10 dramas with the highest premiere ratings among tvN’s series.
The story of ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ is set in the small seaside town of Gongjin, where Yoon Hye Jin is a confident dentist from the city who has come to the village to start her own clinic. She meets Hong Doo Shik, an odd job who goes around the village helping everyone with a price. The third angle to this story is Ji Seong Hyun played by Lee Sang Yi who is a variety show director with a bright personality.
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is aired on tvN every Saturday and Sunday night.
