Netizens say Sakura looks unrecognizable in HYBE new girl group LE SSERAFIM’s debut teasers
Sakura is suspected of undergoing plastic surgery after her debut teasers were released.
“BTS’s younger sister” a.k.a the first girl group formed by a collaboration between HYBE Labels and Source Music, LE SSERAFIM, is set to make their debut this May. At 12 AM KST on April 4th, the first debut teasers for Miyawaki Sakura, the first member of LE SSERAFIM, were dropped. Since IZ*ONE disbanded, fans and netizens have been highly anticipating Sakura’s next debut. Therefore, her LE SSERAFIM teaser images immediately created a stir as soon as they were unveiled.
Through the set of teasers, Sakura stuns with not only beautiful visuals but also how different she looks compared to her IZ*ONE days. She got rid of her bangs, changed her eyebrows shape, and appeared in a sexy and mature concept. Overall, many netizens claim the hairstyle, makeup, and outfits make Sakura look unrecognizable. In particular, attention is focused on Sakura’s tall, sharp nose and plump lips as netizens suspect her of having plastic surgery.
In response to these comments from netizens, fans defend Sakura by saying that she only looks different because of different makeup and the teasers were a bit over-edited. In the teaser video, Sakura’s pretty facial features are the same, and the only difference is that she exudes a more fierce and mature aura now. However, some netizens still find her’s nose and lips somewhat unusual in the video.
This is not the first time Sakura came under plastic surgery rumors. When she was active in IZ*ONE, Sakura created a buzz with her doll-like visuals as she dyed her hair bright colors and wore Korean makeup. However, given how different she looked compared to her appearance in Mnet’s survival show Produce 48, netizens started questioning whether Sakura had her face done.
Before Produce 48, Sakura was a member of the popular Japanese idol group HKT48. Having an innocent beauty with lovely big round eyes, she often preferred natural makeup looks. Sakura’s Japanese beauty was well-loved by fans in the past, but ever since she debuted in Korea, she has continued to appear in Korean styling, making her look different.
