Netflix is Still Discussing the Release of “Persona: Sulli” with Undisclosed Interview of the Late Sulli
The unreleased interview footage of the late Sulli is creating a buzz as Netflix considers the release of the short film “Persona: Sulli.”
A 44-second teaser for Netflix’s short film “Personal: Sulli” has been unveiled, drawing attention from fans. In particular, the video contains Sulli‘s unreleased interview, in which she said, “I was curious about my role in this society, what it would be like to establish a relationship, and what thoughts people my age had.“
Sulli also said, “Popularity suddenly appeared. I understood, but it was scary to have popularity.“
The video, which appears to be a teaser trailer for “Persona: Sulli,” has not been officially released on Netflix Korea or US. It cannot be found on the list of upcoming releases on the platform.
Amid increasing fan interest, Netflix released a brief statement on May 21st, stating, “‘Persona: Sulli’ is a work produced by Mystic Story, and overall discussions, including the release schedule, are underway.“
The Netflix original anthology “Persona,” released in 2019, is a collection of short films with one main character, with IU starring and four directors participating.
Sulli was cast as the main character for the second installment of “Persona,” following IU, and was set to present an anthology consisting of five short films. However, it was reported that production was halted after Sulli completed filming one of the episodes and passed away in October 2019.
Following its almost forgotten state among people, “Persona: Sulli” is expected to be released in the form of a special episode, as Netflix is anticipated to release the completed footage after discussions. It is also expected to include an in-depth interview of Sulli filmed in 2019.
Born in 1994, Sulli started her career as a child actress in 2005 and made her debut in 2009 as a member of f(x), actively participating in various works as an actress as well. On October 14, 2019, at the age of 25, she passed away.
