NCT Tokyo candidate Ryu turns out to be younger brother of famous Japanese group member

NCT’s last unit “NCT Tokyo” candidate Ryu is confirmed to be the younger brother of Japanese singer Alan Shirahama.

According to a report by XSports News on August 4th, Ryu, who is currently competing in “NCT Universe: LASTART”, a pre-debut reality show to select members for the last NCT unit, is the younger brother of Alan Shirahama, a member of Japanese group EXILE and Generations from Exile Tribe.

NCT will eliminate the “infinite expansion” system after debuting NCT Tokyo team, which will be formed through SM’s first survival program “LASTART”. As a result, various trainees are currently competing to get the debut slot in NCT’s last unit.

Born in 2003, Ryu attracts keen attention with his pure visual and clear vocal. Especially, he was selected to join this survival program even though he has just started training for 2 weeks. What’s notable is that Ryu’s older brother is already a Japanese star.

Ryu’s older brother Alan Shirahama is a member of the Japanese group EXILE, which has been active since 2001. He was born in 1993.

He’s also carrying out acting activities and has starred in various Japanese dramas, such as “Rokudenashi Blues”, “GTO” series, “The King of Novels”, “M: Beloved One”, as well as movies “Daytime Shooting Star” and “One in a Hundred Thousand”.

Amid the fierce battle to get a position in NCT Tokyo’s official lineup, Ryu is boasting an outstanding presence, not only as the younger brother of a famous Japanese singer but also as a “two-week trainee”. Attention is focused on whether he will successfully debut and become a star like his brother.
