Moonbin’s childhood connections also pay tribute, from U-Know Yunho to iKON Chanwoo

After ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly passed away, the wave of tributes from fellow entertainers continues.

According to the police, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on April 19th at around 8:10 pm (KST). He was 25 years old. Moonbin’s manager was the first to discover him, and the police are considering an autopsy to investigate the exact cause of death.

The mortuary of the deceased is set up at the Seoul Asan Hospital funeral home. Moonbin’s younger sister, Billlie member Moon Sua, alongside her parents, acted as the chief mourners, while ASTRO members JinJin and Yoon Sanha are guarding the mortuary in sorrow. ASTRO MJ, who is currently serving in the military, hurriedly took a leave and visited the funeral parlor, and former member Rocky also came to share the grief. Cha Eun Woo returned from the US and visited the deceased on the evening of April 20th.

Moonbin, who had released an album in January and had been active until recently, left fans in great shock. He was also scheduled to perform at the Dream Concert in Busan next month.

As a result, the entertainment industry is in deep grief. Fellow artists have posted tributes to Moonbin on their social media or have made adjustments to their schedules.

Girl group Billlie, which Moon Sua belongs to, canceled all schedules, while LE SSERAFIM canceled their scheduled event ahead of their “Knowing Bros” filming. IU requested media to delay reporting interview-related media to promote her movie, “Dream”, while BTOB suspended their comeback promotions and SEVENTEEN postponed the release of new teasers.  BTS Suga postponed a video call fan signing event for his solo album release, and Kangta also postponed the release of his new song, among various others.

Additionally, celebrities such as BTS RM, EXID Hyelin, The Grace Sunday, SISTAR Hyolyn, SeeYa Kim Yeon Ji, TV personality Jang Sung Kyu, Hong Seok Cheon, actor Kwon Hyuk Soo, musical actor Kim Ho Young, comedian Kim Shin Young, and many others, also paid their tributes both online and offline.

Since then, the wave of tributes from fellow entertainers continued. (G)I-DLE Miyeon, MC of Mnet’s “M Countdown”, said at the end of the broadcast, “We also had a hard time with a heavy heart due to the sudden farewell news. Once again, I send my condolences to his family and fans.” Meanwhile, MONSTA X Jooheon said, “I will always remember Moonbin, who gave us wonderful performances for a long time. I pray once again that he will be at peace.”

Mnet’s “Boys Planet” also expressed condolences by displaying the caption, “Mnet’s contestants and production staff remember the late Moonbin” at the beginning of the broadcast.

Moonbin, who had appeared in TVXQ’s music video during his childhood and was known as “Little TVXQ”, gained attention for his resemblance to Yunho at the time. In response, both former and current members of TVXQ joined the tribute. In particular, Yunho wrote on his social media, “I won’t forget your bright smile and shining appearance. I pray that you’ll be at peace and happy there,” while Kim Jae Joong wrote, “I hope you’ll be happier in the sky.”

SHINee Taemin also expressed his feelings for the deceased, saying, “I remember how you shone on stage. I hope you will always be happy there, just as you always sparkled”. Meanwhile, Park Seulgi, who had hosted ASTRO’s showcase, revealed her sadness, saying, “Under the unusually cloudy sky, I wonder why I didn’t ask how he’s doing these days or if he’s having a hard time among the many encounters from ASTRO to unit activities. I was foolish to think he was just fine because he always seemed to be smiling and enjoying himself. I hope he is only happy in a place without worries and concerns.”

At the same time, iKON’s Jung Chanwoo posted a picture taken with Moonbin when they were young and wrote, “Bin, don’t be hurt and be happy there.”
