Moon Ga Young was born in 1996 in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. From a young age, she stood out with her lovely appearance and attractive big round eyes. She can speak three languages fluently including German, English and Korean. The actress received a very good upbringing and was well educated by her parents; her father was a physicist, and her mother was a musician. Thanks to her strong family background, from an early age, she had access to professional art and learned to play many different musical instruments, including violin, piano,.. and sports such as horseback riding, golfing, swimming, etc. All of those combined and created a very confident and energetic young Moon Ga Young.

At the age of 10, Moon Ga Young and her parents returned to Korea and this was also the time when she fell in love with acting. In the early years of her career, she only took on supporting roles in not-so-popular series. Thanks to her confidence and natural talent for acting, when she was less than 15 years old, she had pocketed herself dozens of roles in multiple works. Despite her busy schedule as a young actress, Moon Ga Young has never neglected her study career. In particular, the actress is an acting and arts major alumni of Sungkyunkwan University, a prestigious university in Korea.

In the first years of her acting career as a child star, Moon Ga Young did not really achieve much success. It was not until later, in the first years of her 20s, that the actress gained the reputation she deserved. In her 20s, with a beautiful appearance, attractive body and trendy fashion sense, Moon Ga Young is known as the new generation goddess of the Korean screen.

During her career, she boldly tried different types of roles and gradually created herself a solid foothold in the Korean entertainment industry.

The work that marks a breakthrough in Moon Ga Young’s acting career is definitely The Great Seducer.  Although she only took on the sublead female role in this work, her beauty, acting, and charisma were considered to overshadow the female lead Joy (Red Velvet). After this impressive role, Moon Ga Young continuously appeared on many gameshows as well as advertisements and received many invitations to act in works from famous directors. However, the dramas and films that she starred in after that were all not very well received by the public. It was not until the end of 2020 that Moon Ga Young once again rose to fame thanks to her appearance in the hit drama “True Beauty”. The drama centers on a high school girl who, after being bullied and isolated because of her uglt ugly, masters the art of makeup to transform herself into a gorgeous “goddess“. Moon Ga Young captivated the audience with a new image on the small screen and was highly praised by the public for her excellent performance in this work.

Dating rumors with actor Woo Do Hwan

After her successful performance in The Great Seducer, Moon Ga Young was rumored to be dating the male lead of the drama – actor Woo Do Hwan. The two’s relationship was enthusiastically supported by the public not only by their super beautiful love story at the beginning of the work, but also because the two were seen to have a lot of sweet gestures towards each other in the filming process of The Great Seducer.

Immediately after the rumor broke out, Moon Ga Young’s management agency – SM C&C spoke up, “It is true that the two actors of The Great Seducer are very close. However, we have not heard any news about Moon Ga Young’s relationship and she is not dating anyone. She’s very close to Woo Do Hwan, but they’re not a couple.”  The management company of Woo Do Hwan, Keyeast Entertainment, also stated their position, “Woo Do Hwan and Moon Ga Young are close friends. However, they are not dating. They became close with their co-stars before The Great Seducer was aired”.
