Lee Sun-kyun’s second summons “The police consider applying for an arrest warrant if he entirely denies the charges”

Actor Lee Sun-kyun, who is under investigation for alleged drug use, is scheduled to appear before the police for a second time on Nov 4th

During the first summons on Oct 28th, Lee Sun-kyun refused to provide statements about the drug use allegations. However, the second summons may involve statements regarding the allegations, focusing on marijuana and other drugs he is accused of using at an adult entertainment establishment owner’s home in Seoul since the beginning of this year.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit will summon Lee Sun-kyun as a suspect on Nov 4th for his alleged violations of the Narcotics Control Act, specifically related to marijuana and psychotropic drugs.

Lee Sun-kyun tested negative in the initial drug test, which led to the police requesting an urgent detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service due to the seriousness of the case. Although Lee Sun-kyun refused to provide statements during his first summons, his legal counsel expressed that he intended to make statements in the next formal investigation.

While Lee Sun-kyun expressed a general apology for disappointing many people due to his involvement in an “unpleasant incident”, he did not directly admit or deny the allegations during his initial appearance.

The upcoming second interrogation is anticipated to focus on Lee Sun-kyun’s statements regarding the drug use allegations, and depending on his responses, the police will decide on their future course of action. SBS reported that if Lee Sun-kyun entirely denies the charges, the police are considering applying for an arrest warrant. However, the results of the National Forensic Service’s detailed analysis have not been released yet, and the second summons may conclude within 1~2 hours.
