Koreans’ favorite advertising model: No.3 Gong Yoo, No.2 Kim Yuna, No.1 is?

Singer IU once again topped the list as the most preferred advertising model by Korean consumers for the second consecutive year

According to a survey conducted by the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation, 8.1% of the overall respondents chose IU as their favorite advertising model. Kim Yuna ranked second with 6.9%, followed by Gong Yoo at 6.1%, Son Heung-min at 3.7%, and Yoo Jae-suk at 3.3%.

The survey, conducted online from Nov 27th to Nov 30th, targeted 2,000 men and women aged 20 to 59 nationwide. The margin of error is ±2.2% points at a 95% confidence level.

The Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation also surveyed Korean consumers about their plans for the upcoming year. The top responses for next year’s plans were “exercise, diet, health management” at 67.3%, and “investment, saving” at 58.2%, ranking first and second, respectively.

Regarding the products and services that Korean consumers expect to spend more on next year compared to this year, “travel” ranked first at 40.7%, followed by “pharmaceuticals, health functional foods” at 33.5%, and “finance” at 29.6%. “Health and exercise-related services” took the fourth spot at 25.6%.

Meanwhile, IU debuted as a singer with “Lost And Found” in 2008 and has consistently released hit songs, including her 2021 mini-album “Pieces”.

In 2011, she made her debut as an actress through KBS2’s drama “Dream High”. Since then, IU has been actively engaged in both small and big screen, participating in dramas such as “Bel Ami”, “The Producers”, “My Mister”, “Hotel Del Luna” and movies like “Broker”, “Dream”.

IU admitted to dating actor Lee Jong-suk on Dec 31st last year. The two, who became friends during their activities as “SBS Inkigayo” MCs about 10 years ago, reportedly developed into lovers from August last year.
