KBS Reporter Criticized For Making Post Targeting G-Dragon On SNS

G-Dragon recently left a message in the book “All Questions About Youth & Drugs” written by lawyer Kim Hee-jun. This book mentions the issue of young people abusing drugs in Korea, encourages the prevention and education of drug abuse, and supports punishment. This introductory message of G-Dragon, in which he promises to help promote the prevention and treatment of drugs through music, received compliments from fans and journalists.

However, KBS reporter Kwon Jang-ho shared the post and expressed his doubts about G-Dragon’s words. He said, “I’ll be more interested in it if it’s written by someone else except for G-Dragon. Looks like he wrote that in a sarcastic way or made it like a declaration rather than expressing something sincerely”. Kwon Jang-ho’s comment immediately faced harsh criticism from netizens. It is because the G-Dragon recently gained recognition for his efforts to prevent drug abuse by establishing a foundation to eradicate drugs.

The backlash quickly rose after Kwon Jang-ho’s above mentioned article, causing the KBS reporter to delete his post and issue an apology.

Meanwhile, G-Dragon’s fans also took practical and drastic action to protect their idol by reporting the incident to G-Dragon’s legal team. The team will be responsible for addressing any offensive comments or messages towards its artist.
