K-netizens Think Kim Min-hee Deserves A Comeback Compared To Lee Sun-hyun

On December 30, a netizen made a post on the popular Korean forum Nate Pann with the title “Someone needs to call Kim Min-her.”

Tell her it’s ok to come out now,” says the post. This is practically a joke regarding the past controversies caused by male stars.

Kim Min-hee was severely boycotted by the entertainment industry because she admitted her romantic relationship with director Hong Sang-soo, who was married. Since the scandal, Kim has disappeared from the Korean entertainment industry and only appeared on Hong’s movies.

However, after witnessing how male stars were treated after causing as big or even bigger controversies, this netizen seems to think Kim Min-hee deserves a second chance.

After only a day, the original post has gathered approximately 190,000 views and countless comments, most of which agree with the netizen.

The top comments are as follows,

“Honestly, it’s true. Top actors got in all kinds of drugs, affairs, adult entertainment rooms, drunk driving, etc.. Shouldn’t one or two happen to the top actresses as well? LOL”

“Seo Ye-ji, please come back”

“I mean Korea eliminated the cheating from the crime list, so why can’t she?”

“I guess cheating is easy to forgive if it’s men, but not if it’s women.”

“For a male celebrity that passed away after his crime, the public needs to pay tribute, even if he cheated while being married and even went to hostess bars. Female celebrities deserve their comeback. Fellow celebrities must be okay with it.”

“Wow, LOL. It’s so obvious when you compare the differences. For example, if Kim Min-he make an extreme choice like Lee Sun-kyun, will celebrities pay tribute on air to her like they do now? LOL”

“It’s true, but I feel so sorry for Hong Sang-soo’s wife if she returns.”

“Female celebrities such as Seo Ye-ji, Kim Min-hee, Park Na-rae, etc. are overly criticized compared to male celebrities’ wrongdoings, why on earth? LOL”
