Jin Ramen Modeled By BTS’s Jin Ranks No.2 In Food Industry Interest Analysis

BTS member Jin proved the power of “Jin Effect” again

On October 19th, Public Survey Institute Data & Research announced the results of the analysis of bid data on the public’s interest in 8 major food companies in Korea from July to September targeting 230,000 sites and 12 channels, including news, communities, blogs, online cafes, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Kakao Story, etc. 

As a result, Nongshim ranked first by recording 99,470 mentions in the third quarter of this year. Introducing “meoktaekkang” in June, the product received enthusiastic responses. 

Ottogi came in second place with 64,154 mentions. As BTS’s Jin is modeling for Ottogi’s Jin Ramen advertisements, articles related to him have led to a significant increase of 17.7% compared to the same period last year in domestic ramen exports and improved the performance of Ottogi ramen. According to the food industry, one of the main reasons for the increase in demand for Korean ramen abroad is the effect of the advertising model BTS’s Jin.

According to reports in June, the exports of Ottogi ramen modeled by Jin reached a record of $208M in the first quarter of this year. Ottogi’s sales in this period also rose 15.4% compared to the same period of last year. In addition, Ottogi’s operating profit also went up by 10.7% and Ottogi’s U.S. branch also witnessed an increase of 40% in sales.

Released on YouTube on November 11th last year, Jin Ramen CF videos featuring model BTS’s Jin aroused explosive responses. The two videos ranked 9th and 11th, respectively, on YouTube Trending, which is a rare case for advertisements. With the Jin Ramen CF, Jin achieved No.4 in the CF model ranking in November last year and No.3 in the male model ranking.

Apart from improving the domestic ramen export growth, Jin is still showcasing his power as a “sold-out king” even after enlisting in the military in December last year. Items worn by Jin during BTS activities, on entertainment programs, and during military vacation were all sold out, certifying Jin’s impact as a global superstar.

As such, Jin is expected to captivate the public with his versatility and exert “Jin Effect” even more after he is discharged from the military.
