Actors Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong will play the main characters of the drama “Pine”.
An entertainment insider told JTBC Enter News on July 28th, “Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong will appear in ‘Pine’, which is based on Yoon Tae Ho’s webtoon.”
“Pine” is a work serialized on Kakao Webtoon from 2014 to 2015. It depicts the dangerous story of rough people who are obsessed with shameless greed. They gather to find sunken relics in coastal waters off Sinan with their own greed and logic.
In the drama, Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong play Hee Dong and Gwan Seok, respectively. The two are nephew and uncle. Set in the 1970s, after receiving a proposal to take out a bowl from the West Sea, they jump into treasure excavation to escape their life of selling imitation. As the number of people looking for treasure increases, their obsession grows mad and they are forced to make a choice between desire and humanity. The bromance chemistry between the two based on solid acting skills raises expectations.
“Pine” has a total of 10 episodes. It is produced by Yworks Entertainment and directed by Kang Yoon Sung of the movie “The Outlaws” and Disney+ “Big Bet”. The filming will begin in the second half of this year with the aim of airing at the end of next year. It will be released through OTT (online video streaming service).
