BLACKPINK Jennie threatened by a potential planned assault at upcoming Philippines concert

International fans are showing worries over a potential planned assault which targets BLACKPINK member Jennie.

After a month of rest in February, BLACKPINK will continue their “BORN PINK” world tour in Asia, across Southeast Asian countries from the start of March. However, just as the tour is resumed, international fans are worried over a potential assault aiming at Jennie during upcoming two-night concert in the Philippines, which will be held on the 25th and 26th of March.

In particular, various offensive and threatening posts can be found on SNS platform Twitter, and an user even announced they would award 5.000 peso for anyone able to fling cakes or cupcakes at Jennie. In response, international fans are trending the hashtag #KeepJennieSafe to spread the words to YG and demand increased security for the idol in the upcoming concert.

The comparison post that sparked the hate towards Jennie

The reason for this sudden surge of malice comes from a post comparing the cakes for Lisa and Jennie’s birthday. The post shows that Jennie’s birthday cake in the “BORN PINK” concert in Hong Kong was much fancier and larger that prepared for Lisa.

However, said post has since been debunked, as the photo of Lisa’s alleged cake were revealed to have been taken in 2019. International fans were enraged at the distorted truth and the subsequent hate Jennie had to endure, with malicious comments spreading across Twitter and Instagram.
